Printing Tax Details in Sales Documents
Hi all
Recently I was working on a customer request to print tax details on sales documents like Orders/Invoices. On doing some analysis I was able to get it done with some help from my friend David Musgrave. I have decided to post what I have found so that it will be helpful to you folks…
When printing the Sales Document, the SOP Print Options window opens up providing you various options for printing the tax details on the Sales Document. In this window, there are options to Include Tax Details on the printed sales document. Let me explain what each of them does.
Include Tax Details – This option enables the printing of tax details on sales document. The other options for printing tax details on the sales document will be enabled only when this option is checked.
Print Dual Currencies – This option can be used to print the tax details in both originating and functional currency.
Line Item & Summary Taxes – This option prints the tax details both at Line Item Level and at the document level. The line item level tax will be displayed under each item printed on the sales document. The summary tax detail will be printed after all line items have been printed.
Summary Taxes Only – This option only prints the summary tax details after all the items have been printed (even if the tax is determined at item level).

Note that even though you have chosen these options when printing the tax details on sales document, the tax details will not print until the specific tax details used in the transaction has been setup to print on the sales documents as shown below on the Tax Detail Maintenance window from Tools >> Setup >> Company >> Tax Detail Maintenance.
Note that the “Print on Documents” option need to be checked for the Tax Detail ID in order to print the tax details for this Tax Detail ID on the sales documents.
Hope this information was helpful to all…
Until next post…
